Ella, Brianna & Georgia - CanTeen Visit Report & Planned Challenge Video

Today we visited CanTeen; we had lunch with two of the staff who work at CanTeen. One of the staff was called Donna she is the manager of the Otago Southland CanTeen association.
The other staff member was called Maureen she helps and looks after the people living with cancer. She helps out by giving the patience food that they like and anything that they want while there in hospital.
Here is some of the things that we learnt when we went to CanTeen:
CanTeen gets 80-90 CanTeen members in Otago every year.
They raise $60,000-$70,000 a year and they need to raise this much to keep their charity going.
CanTeen is not involved with child cancer or cancer association.
CanTeen is for people 13-24years old.
At the moment there are three big fundraisers happening, a cruise, a martial arts competition and a dance/ball.
Bandanna day is coming on the 22nd of October. They sell bandannas for $4. There are 6 different patterns they also sell UV bracelets for $2.
Some shops like Repco, Farmers, Burger king, and KFC volunteer to sell their items at their store so more people will buy them.
CanTeen also encourages people to shave their hair to show their support to people with cancer.
Canteen is a great cause and all the money donated goes towards helping people living with cancer. CanTeen isn’t just for people with cancer but also for family who has someone close to them with cancer. We recommend that you support CanTeen!
